Jinn (2014) | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Aramide Tinubu Shadow and Act More than anything the film shines because it isn't about the trauma or pain that Black women experience. Jinn is about identity, those beautiful, carefree days of youth, and how in a split second, one thing that is so deeply important can be replaced. Mar 13, 2018 Full Review Jinn (2014) | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Peter Keough Boston Globe With its awful acting, terrible dialogue, and laughable special effects, "Jinn" strains for the hapless genius of Ed Wood, but ends up just another bad movie. Rated: 1/4 Apr 7, 2014 Full Review Jinn (2014) | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Nicolas Rapold New York Times Most of the time, this incoherent thriller resembles an overheated trailer for itself: a glaringly rough assembly of ill-staged computer-generated action sequences and portentous moments. Apr 7, 2014 Full Review Jinn (2014) | Rotten Tomatoes (4) John Noonan FILMINK (Australia) Writer-director Ajmal Zaheer Ahmad serves up glossy visuals on the back of a limited budget. However, Jinn often feels like it's a showreel for his visual talents. An admittedly uneven one at that. Apr 16, 2015 Full Review Jinn (2014) | Rotten Tomatoes (5) Scott Weinberg FEARnet Some of Bob Kurtzman's third act make-up effects are a small silver lining, but unfortunately Jinn is a pretty laughable affair. May 8, 2014 Full Review Jinn (2014) | Rotten Tomatoes (6) Chris Klimek The Dissolve A deeply dopey, distinctly not-terrifying, unintentionally hilarious supernatural thriller. Yuri B Never watched it completely the first time but now that I have, it's not bad. But it's also not that great. Definitely one of those if it's on TV watch type of deals. And honestly I only watched because Ray Parker & Serinda Swan were apart of this project. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/18/25 Full Review ladeeph t The movie is one of a kind, it was able to differentiate between the creations, Angels, jinn and man. Their origins were well illustrated, unlike other Hollywood movies which are jus too cheap in making researches. Jinns aren't fallen angels, the devil, shaytan, is not a fallen angel, he is a jinn. It might be a low budget movie but it really passed the message. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/18/24 Full Review Steve D cheap but some fun will be had with these leads. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Only person who likes this movie is a black woman because, wait for it, she's a black woman. Unreal. I heard Trannys really enjoyed Plan9. What a joke Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member I loved it.
